A weblog about all the inconveniences we encounter in everyday life. Diapers, junk food, cruelty to animals, hostile people, rude cell phone behavior, cancer, terrible customer service (also known as "why the hell am I giving this company my money?"), ignorance, parking, bad spelling, family disturbances, office politics, death (the biggest inconvenience of all) and more. Thanks for saving me thousands of dollars in therapy by reading my blog. It might even make you laugh.

Lucy Goosey

I'd like to introduce you to my goose, Lucy. She seems to have lost her flock as they migrated to Canada this spring, because she is pretty much all by herself. Except for me and a duck couple that she hangs out with.

I can't say she has befriended the ducks exactly. Originally I thought she had, except that recently she has been giving them a hard time whenever they get some of the bread crumbs I throw. So they just all kind of float around together in a bay, but they do not seem to be friends.

There is not too much I can say for certain about Lucy. I have read up a little on geese since meeting her and it seems either she is mourning her mate, is injured or just somehow got separated from her flock. She does not seem to be injured, although I haven't seen her fly.

Actually I am not even sure that Lucy is a she. Turns out male and female Canadian geese have the same markings. But Lucy seems to fit her. However, most Lucys I know are quite vocal, and my Lucy does not talk at all. I wonder why.

I keep meaning to take a picture of Lucy, and when I do, I will post it here. So in the meantime you can enjoy a picture of my breakfast from February 27th, 2006. Isn't it lovely?
